Where Does the Bible First Mention Angel?

The Bible first mentions angel in Genesis 16:7, from the original word mal'ak (מלאך). 'The angel of the LORD found her' beside a spring in the wilderness—the first angel appears to a fleeing, mistreated slave woman, showing that God sends His messengers to the overlooked.
