Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not store plain-text passwords.

Payment Information

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers. We receive and store only a Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your access to premium features.

Usage Data

We collect anonymized usage data including pages visited, features used, and session duration via Google Analytics (GA4). This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

User-Generated Content

Content you create within the app — journal entries, bookmarks, highlights, and notes — is stored on our servers solely to provide the Service to you. You own this content.

How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To process subscription payments and manage access to premium features
  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmation, subscription receipts)
  • To analyze how the Service is used so we can improve it
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising targeting.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • Google Analytics (GA4) — anonymized usage analytics. Governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Railway — cloud hosting provider where the application and database are hosted.

Cookies

We use session cookies necessary to keep you logged in. We also use cookies set by Google Analytics for usage measurement. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect your ability to log in.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (e.g., payment records retained for tax purposes).

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Portability — request an export of your user-generated content

Children's Privacy

Gospel Daily is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and restricted database access. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted to this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
