Law of First Mention

Where Does the Bible First Mention Sabbath?

The Bible first mentions sabbath in Exodus 16:23, from the original word shabbat (שבת). 'Tomorrow is the rest of the holy sabbath'—though God rested at creation, the word sabbath first appears with the manna, teaching Israel to trust God's provision and rest.

The Seed of Everything That Follows
