Bible Chapter Summary
1 Corinthians 16 Summary
Collection, travel plans, and final greetings
Paul instructs the church regarding a collection for the saints, commanding them to set aside money on the first day of each week as God has prospered them, so that when he arrives there will be no need to gather funds. He speaks of his travel plans, saying he will pass through Macedonia and may abide with them through winter before going to Jerusalem. Paul expresses his intention to stay at Ephesus until Pentecost due to a great and effectual door being opened to him there, despite many adversaries. He commends Timothy, their brother Apollos, and the household of Stephanas, urging the church to respect and support those who labor in ministry. The letter closes with greetings from the churches of Asia, Aquila and Priscilla, and all the brethren, exhorting them to greet one another with a holy kiss and to love the Lord Jesus Christ.
