Bible Chapter Summary
1 Kings 10 Summary
Queen of Sheba Visits Solomon
Hearing of Solomon's fame concerning the name of the LORD, the queen of Sheba comes to test him with hard questions, bringing a great train with camels bearing spices, gold, and precious stones. Solomon answers all her questions and shows her his wisdom, his house, his table, his servants' arrangement and apparel, his cupbearers, and the burnt offerings he offers at the temple. Seeing his wisdom and prosperity, the queen declares that the report she heard was true and that the half had not been told her. She gives Solomon one hundred twenty talents of gold and great abundance of spices and precious stones. Solomon's navy brings gold and precious materials from Ophir, and he exceeds all kings of the earth in riches and wisdom, receiving gifts from every nation seeking to hear the wisdom God has put in his heart.
