Bible Chapter Summary
1 Samuel 24 Summary
David Spares Saul in the Cave
Saul enters a cave where David and his men hide. David's men urge him to slay Saul, but David cuts only the skirt of Saul's robe, repenting even of this. After Saul leaves, David calls out to reveal the cut robe and his own restraint. Saul weeps, confesses David is more righteous, and acknowledges David shall be king, then departs in peace.
