2 Chronicles 5 Summary

The Ark Is Placed in the Holy of Holies

Solomon assembles the elders and leaders of Israel to bring up the ark of the covenant from Zion into the completed temple. The priests and Levites bring the ark, the tabernacle, and all holy vessels. King Solomon and the vast congregation sacrifice sheep and oxen without number. The priests place the ark in the oracle, the Most Holy Place, under the wings of the cherubims. When the priests come out and all sing together praising the Lord for His enduring mercy, the house is filled with a cloud—the glory of the Lord—so that the priests cannot stand to minister.
