Bible Chapter Summary
2 Corinthians 2 Summary
Sorrow, Forgiveness, and the Savour of Christ
Paul explains his reason for not returning to Corinth in heaviness, and he writes about a previous letter sent with many tears, not to grieve them but to demonstrate his abundant love. He urges the Corinthians to forgive and comfort someone who had caused grief, lest he be overwhelmed with sorrow, and to confirm their love toward him. Paul reflects on his journey to Troas where, though a door was opened to preach, he could not rest until finding Titus, and he gives thanks that God causes the apostles to triumph in Christ and manifest the knowledge of Him everywhere.
