Bible Chapter Summary
2 Corinthians 5 Summary
Reconciled in Christ and New Creation
Paul teaches that if the earthly body is dissolved, believers have an eternal house from God in heaven, and they groan in hope of being clothed with their heavenly dwelling. Believers must appear before Christ's judgment seat to receive according to what they have done in the body, whether good or bad. The love of Christ constrains the apostles to proclaim that Christ died for all that those who live might live unto Him, not unto themselves, and that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature with old things passed away. God has reconciled the world unto Himself through Christ and committed to the apostles the word of reconciliation, making them ambassadors for Christ.
