Bible Chapter Summary

Acts 3 Summary

Peter Heals the Lame Beggar at the Temple

Peter and John encounter a man lame from birth at the temple gate called Beautiful and heal him in Jesus's name, commanding him to rise and walk. The healed man immediately leaps up, walks, and enters the temple praising God, causing all the people to marvel with amazement. Peter addresses the astonished crowd in Solomon's porch, explaining that Jesus—whom they delivered up and denied before Pilate—was raised from the dead and through faith in His name has made this man whole. Peter calls them to repent and be converted so their sins may be blotted out, and promises that Jesus, preached to them beforehand, shall be sent from heaven until the times of restitution of all things.
