Bible Chapter Summary

Isaiah 54 Summary

Barren Jerusalem Made Fruitful

The barren woman is called to sing and enlarge her tent, for her children shall multiply beyond those of the married wife and shall inherit the Gentiles and inhabit desolate cities. The LORD, her Maker and Husband, will gather her with great mercies after a moment of forsaking, and His kindness shall not depart as His sworn covenant of peace. He will establish her with precious stones and teach all her children, who shall have great peace and be far from oppression and terror.
