Bible Chapter Summary

Job 18 Summary

Bildad Describes the Wicked's Ruin

Bildad complains that Job's words continue endlessly and questions why they are counted as beasts. He then delivers a long depiction of the wicked man's fate: his light shall be put out, darkness shall fill his tabernacle, his own counsel casts him down, and he is ensnared by his own feet. Terrors make him afraid on every side, his strength becomes weakened, and he is brought to the king of terrors. Ultimately, the wicked man is driven from light into darkness, has no descendants, his remembrance perishes from the earth, and this is the portion of him that knoweth not God.
