Bible Chapter Summary
Job 23 Summary
Job Seeks Audience with God
Job's complaint remains bitter and his stroke heavier than his groaning. He desperately wishes to find God and come before His seat to present his case with arguments and understand God's response. Job expresses faith that God would not crush him with great power but would listen; the righteous could then dispute with Him and be delivered forever from judgment. Yet Job searches for God in all directions—forward, backward, left, and right—but cannot perceive Him, though God knows every step Job takes. When tested, Job will come forth as gold; he has kept God's steps and commandments, esteeming His words more than his necessary food.
