Bible Chapter Summary
Job 31 Summary
Job's Covenant of Righteousness
Job declares his faithfulness to God through a covenant with his eyes, condemning lustful thoughts. He claims to have walked with integrity, withholding his hand from the poor and fatherless, and maintained justice even when tempted by wealth, idolatry, or revenge. Job lists his personal moral standards—refusing to curse his enemy, welcoming strangers, and eschewing deceit—and appeals for God to examine his deeds and judge his integrity.
