Bible Chapter Summary
John 2 Summary
Water Turned to Wine and Temple Cleansing
Jesus attends a wedding in Cana where the wine runs out, and at his mother's urging, he turns water in stone waterpots into wine, his first miracle. He then travels to Capernaum and goes to Jerusalem for Passover, where he drives merchants and money-changers from the temple, declaring it should not be a house of merchandise. When questioned about his authority, Jesus speaks of destroying the temple and raising it in three days, speaking of the temple of his body.
