Bible Chapter Summary
Jonah 2 Summary
Jonah's Prayer from the Fish's Belly
From within the fish's belly, Jonah cries out to the Lord in prayer, recounting his affliction in the depths of the sea and his removal from God's sight. He remembers the Lord and declares that his prayer reaches into God's holy temple. Though his soul is faint, he vows to render sacrifice and offer thanksgiving, knowing that salvation comes from the Lord. The Lord commands the fish, which then vomits Jonah upon the dry land.
