Judges 10 Summary

Tola, Jair, and Israel's Renewed Repentance

After Abimelech, the minor judges Tola and Jair lead and defend Israel for a combined forty-five years. Israel again forsakes the LORD to serve the gods of the surrounding nations, and God sells them into the hands of the Philistines and Ammonites for eighteen years of distress. When they cry out, the LORD rebukes them for repeatedly abandoning him and tells them to cry to the gods they chose. Yet when they put away their idols and serve him, his soul is grieved for Israel's misery, and the people gather at Mizpeh to face Ammon.
