Matthew 4 Summary

Temptation in the Wilderness and the Beginning of Ministry

Jesus is led by the Spirit into the wilderness for forty days and nights. Satan tests him three times; Jesus answers each with Scripture. Then Jesus begins his Galilean ministry fulfilling Isaiah 9, calls Peter, Andrew, James, and John from their fishing boats, and begins healing every disease and sickness among the people.
