Micah 5 Summary

The Coming Ruler and Deliverer

Though enemies gather against the daughter of troops and lay siege, out of little Beth-lehem Ephratah shall come forth a ruler in Israel whose goings forth have been from everlasting. After the travailing woman brings forth her child, the remnant of his brethren shall return to the children of Israel. This one shall stand and feed his people in the strength of the LORD, and his greatness shall extend to the ends of the earth. When the Assyrian comes into the land, seven shepherds and eight principal men shall be raised against him; they shall waste Assyria and deliver Israel. The remnant of Jacob among the nations shall be as dew from the LORD and as a lion among beasts. The LORD shall cut off horses, chariots, witchcrafts, graven images, and strongholds, destroying all idolatry.
