Nehemiah 6 Summary

Walls Completed Despite Threats

Enemies send Nehemiah four letters demanding he stop work and meet with them, but he refuses, stating the work is too important. Sanballat sends an open letter falsely accusing Nehemiah of rebellion and claiming he appointed prophets to declare him king. Sanballat hires a false prophet to frighten Nehemiah into taking refuge in the temple, but Nehemiah recognizes the conspiracy and refuses to hide. The wall is finished on the 25th day of Elul in 52 days, and the enemies are dismayed.
