Bible Chapter Summary
Revelation 11 Summary
The Two Witnesses and the Seventh Trumpet
John is given a reed to measure God's temple and altar, while the Gentiles tread the outer court for forty-two months. Two witnesses clothed in sackcloth prophesy for 1,260 days, wielding power to call fire from their mouths and control rain and water. When the beast from the bottomless pit kills them, their bodies lie unburied in the great city for three and a half days while dwellers of the earth rejoice; after the Spirit of life from God enters them, they ascend to heaven as their enemies watch. A great earthquake then shakes the city, killing seven thousand, and the seventh angel sounds his trumpet, proclaiming the kingdoms of the world have become the kingdoms of God and His Christ.
