Bible Chapter Summary
Revelation 16 Summary
The Seven Vials of God's Wrath Poured Out
Seven angels pour out vials of God's wrath: the first brings grievous sores on those marked with the beast; the second turns the sea to blood and kills all creatures in it; the third transforms rivers and fountains to blood, with the angel of the waters testifying that God justly gives the wicked blood to drink. The fourth scorches men with fire; the fifth plunges the beast's kingdom into darkness causing pain and blasphemy; the sixth dries the Euphrates to prepare the way for the kings of the east, as three unclean spirits like frogs gather the nations to battle at Armageddon. The seventh pours wrath into the air, bringing a mighty earthquake that divides the great city into three parts, casts down the cities of nations, and brings hail stones of a talent's weight.
