Bible Chapter Summary
Romans 7 Summary
The Law's Power and the Flesh's Struggle
The law has dominion only while a man lives, and Christians are delivered from the law through Christ's body, freed to serve in newness of spirit. The law itself is holy and good, but sin uses the commandment to work lust and death. Paul describes the inward struggle: he delights in the law of God according to his mind, but sees another law in his flesh warring against his mind, bringing him into captivity to sin. He cries out for deliverance, finding it through Jesus Christ.
