Bible Chapter Summary

Zechariah 14 Summary

The Day of the Lord and Final Redemption

The day of the Lord approaches when spoil shall be divided in Jerusalem. Nations gather to battle the city; half shall be taken captive but not utterly destroyed. The Lord goes forth to fight these nations, and His feet stand upon the mount of Olives, which cleaves in two. Living waters flow from Jerusalem in all seasons, and the Lord becomes king over all the earth with one name. The land is transformed into a plain, Jerusalem is lifted up and safely inhabited, and a plague consumes those who fought against it. Survivors worship the King yearly, and all earthly vessels in Jerusalem are consecrated to holiness unto the Lord.
