Divisions of the Priests

David divides the sons of Aaron into priestly courses. Eleazar and Ithamar execute the priestly office after Nadab and Abihu's death. The divisions are separated by lot: sixteen courses from Eleazar's sons and eight from Ithamar's sons. Each course serves as governors of the sanctuary and the house of God, establishing the order for priestly service.
