Bible Chapter Summary
1 John 1 Summary
Testimony of the Word of Life
John testifies to the incarnation and eternal life manifested in Jesus Christ, which he and the apostles have witnessed firsthand. He declares that God is light and fellowship with God requires walking in light, confessing sin, and believing in Jesus's cleansing blood. Those who claim to have fellowship with God yet walk in darkness deceive themselves; true fellowship depends on confession and forgiveness through Christ's faithfulness and justice.
