Bible Chapter Summary
1 John 2 Summary
Abiding in Christ and Loving the Brethren
John exhorts believers to avoid sin but assures them that Jesus Christ is their advocate and propitiation with the Father. He teaches that knowing God means keeping His commandments, and true love of God is perfected in obedience. The chapter warns against loving the world and its lusts, condemns antichrists who deny Jesus is the Christ, and emphasizes that believers must abide in the anointing they received and in the Son and Father through faithful teaching.
