Bible Chapter Summary
1 Kings 15 Summary
Abijam and Asa's Reigns in Judah
Abijam reigns three years in Jerusalem, walking in his father's sins, though the Lord preserves a lamp for David's sake by keeping Jerusalem established. After Abijam, Asa reigns and does right in the Lord's sight like David, removing sodomites and idols, and bringing dedicated treasures into the Lord's house; though the high places remain, his heart is perfect with the Lord all his days. During Asa's reign, war persists with Israel's kings; Baasha of Israel builds Ramah to block Judah, but Asa bribes Ben-hadad of Syria to break his league with Baasha, forcing Baasha to cease building.
