Bible Chapter Summary

1 Kings 21 Summary

Naboth's Vineyard and Divine Judgment

Ahab desires Naboth's vineyard but Naboth refuses to sell his inherited property. Jezebel writes false letters in Ahab's name and arranges for Naboth to be stoned on charges of blasphemy. Elijah confronts Ahab and pronounces judgment: dogs will lick Ahab's blood where they licked Naboth's, and his house will be destroyed like Jeroboam's and Baasha's. When Ahab humbles himself, God delays the judgment to his son's days.
