Bible Chapter Summary
1 Peter 1 Summary
Blessed Hope Through Christ's Resurrection
Peter addresses scattered believers and blesses God for begetting them again unto a lively hope through Christ's resurrection and an incorruptible inheritance reserved in heaven. Though they suffer manifold temptations, the trial of their faith is precious and will be found unto praise at Christ's appearing. Peter instructs them to gird up their minds, live holy as Christ is holy, and recognise they are redeemed by Christ's precious blood, not corruptible things; they are born again by the incorruptible word of God which endureth for ever.
