Bible Chapter Summary

1 Peter 2 Summary

Living Stones Built Into God's House

Peter exhorts believers to lay aside malice and guile, and like newborn babes desire the sincere milk of the word to grow thereby. Coming to Christ as a living stone, rejected by men but chosen of God, believers themselves become lively stones built into a spiritual house and holy priesthood offering spiritual sacrifices. Called out of darkness into God's marvellous light, they are a chosen generation and royal priesthood, and must abstain from fleshly lusts, maintain good conversation among the Gentiles, submit to authorities, and follow Christ's example of suffering wrongfully without reviling.
