Bible Chapter Summary
1 Peter 5 Summary
Shepherding the Flock and Resisting the Devil
Peter exhorts elders to feed God's flock willingly and not for filthy lucre, being ensamples to the flock and expecting a crown of glory at the chief Shepherd's appearing. Younger believers must submit to elders, and all must be clothed with humility, for God resisteth the proud and giveth grace to the humble. All must humble themselves under God's mighty hand, cast their cares upon Him, be sober and vigilant against the devil's schemes, and resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in their brethren throughout the world.
