Bible Chapter Summary
1 Thessalonians 1 Summary
Paul's Thanksgiving for the Church
Paul, Silvanus, and Timotheus greet the church of the Thessalonians in Christ, giving thanks for their work of faith, labour of love, and patience of hope. They acknowledge that their gospel came to the Thessalonians not merely in words but in power and the Holy Ghost, with much assurance. The Thessalonians received the word in great affliction yet with joy of the Holy Ghost, becoming ensamples to believers and spreading the word throughout Macedonia and Achaia, having turned from idols to serve the living God and to wait for His Son from heaven.
