Bible Chapter Summary
1 Timothy 6 Summary
Servants, False Teachers, and Final Charge
Paul instructs servants to count their masters worthy of all honor so God's doctrine be not blasphemed, and those with believing masters should serve them willingly as brothers. He warns against false teachers who consent not to wholesome words, causing strife and profiting from supposed godliness, commanding Timothy to withdraw from such men. Godliness with contentment is great gain; those desiring riches fall into temptation and hurtful lusts, for the love of money is the root of all evil. Timothy, as a man of God, must flee these things and pursue righteousness, fighting the good fight of faith and keeping this commandment unrebukeable until Christ's appearing.
