Bible Chapter Summary
2 Chronicles 2 Summary
Solomon Prepares to Build God's House
Solomon determines to build a great house for the name of the Lord and a palace for his kingdom. He gathers vast labor forces—seventy thousand carriers and eighty thousand stonecutters—and sends to Huram, king of Tyre, requesting cedar, fir, and algum wood. Huram agrees and sends a skilled craftsman named Huram-abi, expert in all metals, stone, timber, and fine fabrics. Solomon also numbers the strangers in Israel and assigns them as laborers for the construction work.
