Bible Chapter Summary
2 Chronicles 21 Summary
Jehoram's Reign and Divine Judgment
After Jehoshaphat's death, his son Jehoram becomes king and kills his brothers to secure the throne. He turns to idolatry, following the ways of the Northern Kingdom and marrying the daughter of Ahab. The prophet Elijah warns him of God's judgment for forsaking the covenant ways, predicting plague upon his people and a fatal disease. Edomites and Libnah revolt, and enemies attack, but Jehoram dies of an incurable bowel disease after two years of suffering, despised by his people.
