Bible Chapter Summary
2 Chronicles 31 Summary
Hezekiah's Reforms and Priestly Provisions
After destroying all idolatrous altars and groves throughout Israel and Judah, Hezekiah reorganizes the priests and Levites according to their courses for worship and sacrifice. The king appoints his own provision for daily and seasonal burnt offerings and commands the people of Jerusalem to support the priests and Levites. The people respond with abundant firstfruits and tithes of corn, wine, oil, honey, oxen, and sheep, creating great stores that are organized and distributed through faithful overseers by the third and seventh months. Hezekiah prospers in all his works because he seeks God with all his heart.
