Bible Chapter Summary
2 Chronicles 7 Summary
Fire From Heaven and Dedication Sacrifice
When Solomon finishes praying, fire comes down from heaven and consumes the burnt offerings and sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord fills the house so the priests cannot enter. All Israel sees this and bows to the ground in worship, praising God for His enduring mercy. Solomon and all the people offer twenty-two thousand oxen and one hundred twenty thousand sheep to dedicate the house. The feast lasts seven days, followed by a solemn assembly on the eighth day. God appears to Solomon by night, promising to hear prayers made in this place and to forgive the sin of His people if they repent and turn from their wicked ways.
