Exodus 26 Summary

Instructions for the Tabernacle Structure

God gives Moses precise instructions for constructing the tabernacle, beginning with ten inner curtains of fine twined linen woven in blue, purple, and scarlet with cherubim designs, joined in two sets of five by fifty gold taches. Over these, eleven curtains of goats' hair form an outer tent, fastened by fifty brass taches, with outer coverings of rams' skins dyed red and badgers' skins on top. The wooden framework consists of boards of shittim wood fitted into silver sockets along the south, north, and west sides, held together by gold-overlaid bars of shittim wood. Finally, God prescribes a richly embroidered veil of blue, purple, and scarlet linen hung on four gold-overlaid pillars to divide the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place, and a similarly crafted hanging for the tent's entrance supported by five pillars.
