Bible Chapter Summary
Ezekiel 14 Summary
Idolatry and God's Judgment
Certain elders of Israel come to Ezekiel and God reveals that these men have set up idols in their hearts. God declares that He will answer according to their idolatry so that He may take the house of Israel in their heart and separate them from Him. God calls for repentance and turning from idols. God then teaches that when a land sins grievously, He will judge it with famine, beasts, sword, or pestilence, but even righteous men like Noah, Daniel, and Job could only deliver their own souls. God promises that a remnant with proper conduct will come forth to comfort the people, showing that God's judgments are righteous.
