Bible Chapter Summary

Ezekiel 34 Summary

The Lord as True Shepherd

The Lord pronounces judgment against Israel's shepherds who feed themselves rather than the flock, allowing the sick to languish and the lost to stray while ruling with cruelty. The scattered sheep became prey to beasts for lack of a shepherd. The Lord declares He Himself will search for and gather His sheep from all places, bring them to good pasture, and feed them with justice. He will set up one shepherd, His servant David, over them and establish a covenant of peace, making the land fruitful and safe from fear.
