Bible Chapter Summary
Ezekiel 4 Summary
Signs of Jerusalem's Siege
Ezekiel is commanded to portray Jerusalem upon a tile and perform a sign by laying siege to it with battering rams and siege works. He must lie upon his left side three hundred and ninety days bearing the iniquity of the house of Israel, then upon his right side forty days for the house of Judah. During this time he must eat bread made from mixed grains weighed out by measure and drink water by measure, signifying the famine that will befall Jerusalem. God allows him to bake the bread with cow's dung instead of human dung.
