Genesis 9 Summary
The Noahic Covenant and the Rainbow
God establishes the Noahic covenant with all living creatures: never again will a flood destroy the earth. The rainbow is the sign of this eternal covenant. God reaffirms the creation mandate. The chapter ends with Noah planting a vineyard, getting drunk, and the episode of Ham dishonoring his father.
