Hebrews 10 Summary

The Final Sacrifice and Exhortation to Faith

The law, having but a shadow of good things to come, cannot perfect worshippers through yearly sacrifices, for if it could, they would have ceased. The blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sins, but Christ, coming into the world, said his sacrifice fulfills the will of God; by one offering he has perfected forever those sanctified. Unlike priests who stand daily offering repeated sacrifices, Christ sat down at the right hand of God, having offered one sacrifice for sins forever, awaiting his enemies made his footstool. Believers are called to draw near with true hearts, hold fast their profession without wavering, provoke one another to love and good works, and not forsake assembly as the day of judgment approaches.
