Bible Chapter Summary
Hosea 4 Summary
Indictment of Israel's Moral and Spiritual Failure
The LORD has a controversy with Israel because there is no truth, mercy, or knowledge of God in the land; swearing, lying, killing, stealing, and adultery break out everywhere. The land mourns, and all creatures suffer. The priests and prophets shall fall in judgment. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because they have rejected knowledge and forgotten God's law. Their hearts are drawn to idolatry and harlotry, and they have left off taking heed to the LORD.
