Hosea 8 Summary

Idolatry and the Reaping of the Wind

The LORD calls Israel to sound the trumpet because they have transgressed His covenant and trespassed against His law. Israel hath cast off the thing that is good, and the enemy shall pursue him. They have set up kings and made princes without God's knowledge and made themselves idols from silver and gold. They have sown the wind and shall reap the whirlwind; Israel is swallowed up and shall be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure. Ephraim hath made many altars to sin.
