Bible Chapter Summary

Isaiah 11 Summary

The Messiah and the Peaceful Kingdom

A rod shall come forth from Jesse's stem, and upon him shall rest the Spirit of the LORD with wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and fear of God. He shall judge the poor with righteousness and reprove the meek with equity, smiting the wicked with the rod of his mouth. In that day, the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and fierce beasts shall be tame, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD. The Lord shall set his hand again to recover the remnant of Israel from all nations, gather them as an ensign, end the envy between Ephraim and Judah, and create a highway for the redeemed to return from exile.
