Bible Chapter Summary
Isaiah 2 Summary
Future Glory and Present Idolatry
Isaiah describes a vision of the last days when the Lord's house will be exalted above all mountains and nations will flow to it, with the law going forth from Zion and warfare ceasing. Yet presently Judah has forsaken the Lord, becoming filled with idols, silver, gold, and horses, relying on divination and strange children. The Lord will humble all human pride and lofty things in that day, exalting only Himself, and men shall cast away their idols of silver and gold in fear. Isaiah exhorts the people to cease trusting in man and look instead to the Lord.
