Bible Chapter Summary
Isaiah 33 Summary
Woe to the spoiler and treacherous
Isaiah pronounces woe upon the spoiler who himself was not spoiled, and upon the treacherous dealer who dealt treacherously with no one. When the spoiler ceases to spoil, he shall be spoiled; when he ceases his treachery, they shall deal treacherously with him. The people cry to the LORD to be their arm and salvation. The LORD is exalted on high and hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness. The sinners in Zion are afraid of the devouring fire and everlasting burnings. But he that walketh righteously and speaketh uprightly, despiseth oppression and bribes, shall dwell on high. Jerusalem shall be a quiet habitation, and the LORD shall be their judge, lawgiver, and king, saving them and forgiving their iniquity.
