Bible Chapter Summary

Isaiah 34 Summary

The LORD's indignation upon nations

Isaiah summons all nations to hear the word of the LORD. The indignation of the LORD is upon all nations and His fury upon all their armies; He hath utterly destroyed them. The slain shall be cast out, their stink rising from their carcases, and the mountains melted with blood. The heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll, and all their host shall fall. The LORD's sword is bathed in heaven and shall come down upon Idumea in a great slaughter. The land shall be soaked with blood, burning day and night. Streams shall turn to pitch, dust to brimstone, the smoke rising forever. Desolation shall remain forever; none shall pass through it, and only wild beasts and desolate creatures shall inhabit it.
